Here's an extremely nice and gently worn, all but untouched 1962/63 Gibson Les Paul (SG) Junior with original cherry finish.
The neck is straight and free from any cracks or breaks at either end - headstock or neck joint. The truss rod adjusts properly and appeared to have never been used prior pre-sale setup it just received. The frets have been leveled, crowned and polished. The action is low and comfortable. The intonation is spot on thanks to the only replaced component on the guitar - a MojoAxe Lightning Bolt Bridge with intonation set for a plain "G" String. The original bridge is included but is not functional as it has a twist that prevents proper string tension and intonation.
This guitar is not a case queen by any means but it shows very well with honest light playing wear of a 60+ year old guitar. The last handful of pictures show the larger more visible blemishes. They are photographed in such a way that they look their worst and are most visible and look worse than they are in person. There are are a handful of light scuffs around the body what would likely buff out at the expense of the natural patina - that decision will be up to the new owner once it's received to do as they desire.
Overall, while there is plenty of visible wear, there's nothing that would considered excessive or demonstrate signs of abuse or extreme neglect.
All the electronics are original and solder joints are untouched. Both potentiometers date from the 32nd week of 1962. The volume knob is slightly more stiff than the tone but they both function properly without any static or scratching.
Both knobs seem to be original but the volume knob was loose is now secure with the help of a thin wrap of nylon plumber's tape. The volume knob has a slightly domed reflector from someone trying to press it down "harder" - minor, but there. The pickguard has some minor shrinking/warping that is clearly pictured as well.
The tuners are original and function fine. The G String tuning button stem has a slight bend. The D and B string tuners are a little stiff and did not loosen with initial lubrication.
Unfortunately the original case and other documentation are not available to be included with this fantastic playing and sounding guitar. On top of that - a more appropriate Lifton case seems to be backordered nationwide at this time. It will ship securely, double boxed (possibly triple boxed), in a clean Gibson gig-bag circa 2011.
