2012 Gibson SG Special Humbucker | Walnut Brown, Wrap-Around Tail Piece, 490 Humbucker Set

Gibson

Regular price $529.00

Here's a very nice and hard to come by 2012 Gibson SG Special Humbucker finished in a beautiful thin nitrocellulose Walnut Brown finish very similar to the faded series.  The action is low and comfortable without fret buzz or "fretting out" while bending.  The AlNiCo 2 490 set give it a classic sound with warmth for the neck and plenty of crunch from the bridge position.

The body and neck are solid Mahogany with a baked maple fretboard.  This guitar is super light weight, comfortable and couldn't be more of a pleasure to play with tremendous resonance, sustain, and tone which I mostly attribute to the now-unique wrap-around stop bar.

The tuning machines have been replaced with a high quality set from the Kluson Revolution lineup, KED-3801N.  One of the original tuning keys was damaged and these 19:1 ratio tuning machines provide great stability along with dressing it up and adding a nice aesthetic balance without being overtly flashy and detracting from the minimalist soul of this SG.

This guitar is not run off of a Printed Circuit Board.  The controls are are soldered like that should be and are typical of an SG except with a master tone before the output.  Very simplistic, no nonsense, and to the point.

There are two minor blemishes on the front of the body, and a discolored area on the back of the neck from sitting on the stand.  The pickguard has just recently had the protective plastic removed and shows as new.

Comes complete with the original Owner's Manual, Check List, and Gibson dual strap backpack gigbag.
